As a software developer and IT specialist with 15 years experience in the field it is my goal to help non-profits and small businesses, especially in the Irish language sector, get the most from the technological resources that are available. To give the best return on investment I concentrate on open source solutions, leveraging the development efforts of thousands of individuals to create custom solutions for clients.

While there I championed and fostered agile methodologies to the team and management, and also created and maintained development and source-control standards as well as created and administered company’s source control and issue tracking systems.

I worked on a number of back-end internet/database projects, using both perl and c++, and designed and implemented company-wide framework to allow quick and easy creation of SMTP servers by overloading functions. Initially used in application to detect SMTP bounces and update a database accordingly.
I also developed company-wide class hierarchy for cached DNS MX lookup, and assisted in development of industrial-strength SMTP client.
